Bachelor of Industrial Engineering
I graduated from Pasundan University in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, with a degree in Industrial Engineering. During my time at university, I didn’t initially dive deeply into the field of Data Analysis, but my strong foundation in mathematics consistently set me apart. Mathematics has always been my forte; I excel at calculations and thrive on solving problems with logic and precision.
One of the areas where my mathematical skills truly shine is Operational Research. This subject, whether in its deterministic or stochastic forms, has captivated me by its focus on translating complex real-world problems into mathematical models. Through these models, I’ve developed solutions that are not only logical but also practical and efficient. From optimizing resource allocation to designing systems with maximum productivity, my passion for Operational Research has refined my analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is one of the prominent challenges in Operational Research, a subset of the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). When dealing with highly complex problems with numerous variables, the computational cost and time to find the optimal solution increase exponentially. To address this, many professionals and academics employ heuristic models. In my thesis, I tackled the Multi Depot Vehicle Routing Problem (MDVRP) by using a heuristic approach. I implemented Fuzzy C-Means to group vehicles and applied the nearest neighbor and saving algorithms to route each cluster. To solve the MDVRP, I utilized Microsoft Excel, creating multiple sheets for iterative calculations. This choice allowed me to observe the differences in each iteration and understand the processes behind the Fuzzy Algorithm in detail.
While I may not have started as a Data Analysis enthusiast, my journey in Industrial Engineering has equipped me with a deep appreciation for structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making. This foundation has prepared me to explore and excel in fields that leverage mathematics and logical reasoning, such as Data Analytics, Operational Optimization, and beyond. My journey reflects a blend of curiosity, adaptability, and an enduring love for mathematical problem-solving—qualities that I am excited to bring to my professional endeavors.
