Integrated Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC) System Development

In this project, I designed and implemented a fully integrated PPIC system using Microsoft Excel to streamline and automate the flow of operations from raw material management to financial reporting. This system integrates multiple critical processes: Bills of Materials (BOM), Inventory Control, Production Management, Sales Tracking, and Finance Reporting, ensuring seamless data flow across departments.

The project begins with managing raw materials as they arrive at the warehouse. The system tracks these materials and links them directly to the production process, automatically updating the inventory as production progresses. The integration extends to production tracking, where the system generates lists and records of ongoing and completed production, ensuring that raw material usage aligns with the requirements in the BOM.

Once the production process is complete, the system transfers the data to the finished goods warehouse module. This module tracks the availability of products and updates the inventory as goods are sold. The sales process is also fully integrated, automatically deducting sold items from the finished goods inventory.

Finally, the system aggregates monthly sales data to generate comprehensive financial reports, providing insights into revenue and inventory usage. These reports are crucial for monitoring overall performance and informing decision-making.

The project took six months to develop, during which I focused on integrating these components, handling errors, and ensuring the system’s reliability. The development process involved extensive testing to address challenges such as accurate inventory updates, error-free data flows between modules, and creating intuitive formulas for dynamic data handling.

his project highlights my expertise in Microsoft Excel, showcasing my ability to create complex, interlinked systems to solve real-world problems in production planning and inventory control. The system not only improved operational efficiency but also provided a reliable platform for data-driven decision-making, making it a robust solution for small to medium-sized businesses.
